Speaker 1 00:00:11 What's up everyone? It's Brian here and I've got some news. I am bringing back snorkeling with Narwals, and I know what you're thinking. You said that last year it lasted about two weeks and then it went away again. Or you're thinking, what the heck is snorkeling with Narwals? I don't know what you're talking about. So, originally, snorkeling with Narwals was a project I did with my friends Eric and Ronnie. It was a video, audio podcast that was really just random topics, random humor, and it lasted like five, six months. And then we went on a hiatus and never really came back. So then last year I brought it back as another random podcast, but it was just myself, like talking about anything I was thinking of, you know, any topic that came to mind. So this time I want to bring it back specifically as a football and pop culture movie, podcast.
Speaker 1 00:01:09 The reason for this is because one of my pipe dreams, you know, one of those dreams that isn't super feasible, but if you could pull it off, you would, is to work at The Ringer. Now The Ringer is a sports and pop culture website run by Bill Simmons, who I think is like the smartest and best sports guy in the world. <laugh>, which sounds like a hyperbole, but I mean he's really good. His combo of sports and pop culture and movies and wrestling and all this just random stuff together. Music, you know, it, it is such a good combo that the Ringer is just like, I would love to work there. And they have like a million podcasts and I was thinking how, you know, pipe Dream status if I was gonna work there, how do I figure that out? How do I do that? And I'm like, well, maybe I make a demo, uh, a demo podcast.
Speaker 1 00:02:04 And I was like, well, let's do snorkeling with Narwals Again, the name probably isn't relevant for a movie or sports podcast, <laugh>, but it's my favorite podcast name that I've used and I think it's, it's time to bring it back. So this is the second continuation, the second reboot, if you will. I don't know, like <laugh> is, is season three? Is it season one? I'm not sure yet. I'll figure that out. But I am excited about it. This podcast will still be secondary to the Hooligans, which is my main podcast that I do with my brother and sister. Um, any like, I, I told them that I don't want to have to be like, oh, well I want to save this idea for snorkeling with Narwals. No, first priority is still the Hooligans. That's what it's gonna be. Snorkeling with Narwals is more of just for me to practice, but also like you'll be able to listen to it.
Speaker 1 00:02:59 It, I probably won't market it nearly as much as I try to market the hooligans, but you know, it'll be on iTunes, it'll be on Spotify. The big fun thing that I'm gonna try to do is to have my friends on as guests. I have like a list of six or seven people that I want to ask to be on here, you know, each with a different area of focus. Some are more focused on the movies, some on football. Uh, my brother and sister will be on it I'm sure at some point, but I think it could be really fun and I've probably rambled for too long, so I guess I'll end this first little mini, it's not an episode, but an intro to snorkeling with Narwhals, the third version of it.
